Record statistics for rss

It would be very cool, if built in (or via plugin), there was a way to strore statistics on RSS feeds, like what reader people are using, number of subscribers, how often people update etc

(I'm actually not that up to date on rss statistics).

It's notoriously difficult to track this stuff without resorting to something like feedburner, which would mean I have to change all my RSS feeds on the blog I'm running. It would be great to have it baked in.

Sounds like reinventing the wheel to me. Why not (a) start the blog using FeedBurner, or (b) just post something before you make the switch so that subscribers of your feed at its old address know to move to the new address?

Additionally, using a service like FeedBurner gives you *MORE* portability, since if you ever move your domain or change platforms (Ha! As if anything will ever tempt you away from Mango!) you can point FB to the feed url of the new platform/domain for zero interruption in service.
